We had the great pleasure of moving a young family from their very high position in Barcelona to Cambridge! The interior lift (as is so often the case in European apartments!) was very small and so everything had to come out through the balcony windows via the mobile rising platform seen in the pictures.
Thankfully there was no wind that day! The platform had no sides at all and at this great height, some of the more light-weight furniture would not have needed much to have taken a very high tumble off the side!
The move was for about 24 cubic metres so we had to pull a box trailer down to Barcelona. We were warned that the street is tricky to enter with fixed steel bollards preventing long vehicles from turning in off the main road. So we arrived in the early hours of the morning so as to a void to much holding up of traffic. In the end, it involved having to un-couple the trailer, drive the van into the narrow end of the street and then manually manouvre the trailer in after it!
By the time we had commandeered the 8 car spaces outside the apartment, it was time to catch a few hours sleep in the van before the hot, swealtering day of loading began!
